10/2/2006 ~ Dark Side of the Moon

On Sirius: Keller Williams ~ Freeker by the Speaker followed by the
Grateful Dead ~ Sugaree>El Paso, 5/19/1977

We had a great time in the midwest. Our drive from VA to Milwaukee took 13 hours (thanks to Officer Zorger). We attended a backyard Oktoberfest birthday party, in 40 degree weather. Only in Wisconsin!

Drove to Tinley Park for the Roger Waters concert on Friday. Here are the pre-concert pictures.

V is wearing the Pink Floyd shirt from the 1988 concert.

I was wearing my butterfly pants. No they are not pajamas, but they are comfortable. Here is a close-up.

We stayed at a hotel near the ampitheatre. It was raining during the show, so we were lucky to have seats under the canapy. The accoustics were actually really good, even though our neighbors said it was one of the worst outdoor venues. Our seats were a ways back, but dead center.

Here is the setlist of the show:

First Set

01 In The Flesh

02 Mother

03 Set The Controls For the Heart Of The Sun

04 Shine On You Crazy Diamond

05 Have A Cigar

06 Wish You Were Here

07 Southampton Dock

08 The Fletcher Memorial Home

09 Perfect Sense Parts 1 and 2

10 Leaving Beirut

11 Sheep

Second Set

01 Dark Side of the Moon

02 Band Introductions/The Happiest Days Of Our Lives

03 Another Brick In The Wall (Part 2)

04 Vera

05 Bring the Boys Back Home

06 Comfortably Numb

It was tempting to close my eyes and float away to the music, but then I was missing all the great visuals. We all agreed, that of all the concerts we've ever attended, this was in the top 2.

I'm not posting the post-concert pictures. But Fionna captured the essence of the evening ["Any Colour You Like"] quite well in her drawing (paper and crayons courtesy of BW3 where we had dinner before the show). Thanks Fionna!
