4/8/2007 ~ Beijing: Temple of Heaven

On the Rio: Pete Townsend ~ Let My Love Open The Door

The Temple of Heaven was built in 1420 as the place where emporers of the Ming and Qing dynasties offered sacrifices to Heaven and prayed for good harvests and timely rain.

Entering the Temple grounds, one comes to the Long Corridor, comprised of 72 connected rooms, and is the covered passageway between the Animal Killing Pavilion, Divine Kitchen and Warehouse.

Lots of groups were gathered along the corridor singing.
